Habermas Hand-Me-Downs!

I wanted to get a good picture of the girls in these dresses made by their Great Great Grandma before they outgrow them.  Oh my word.  It was a disaster!  Now that Anna can do the army crawl, it was nearly impossible to even get her sitting up in the pictures.  And she is supposed to be my cooperative picture taker.  Shooo!  It wore us all out!

Much easier to do one at a time!
This dress was actually made for Joel...before they knew if he was a boy or a girl.  His mom saved it a looong time, so I wanted some pictures of Anna in it to give to her.

And this is my favorite.  Can't believe they are both smiling!  But it was the first day I was playing around with my new lens, and it is kind of blurry.  Boo.  Oh well!  Not attempting that again!  Well, at least not for a while. :)

New Camera Lens!

I got a new camera lens, and I'm attempting to learn to take pictures using the manual mode instead of automatic.  They say if I do that I will get better pictures, but so far that isn't entirely true.  I have no idea what I'm doing, so it's kind of hit or miss.  A lot of pictures are way worse than if I had just used my old lens in automatic.  Anyways, I'm rambling on.  Here are a few pictures I took of Anna yesterday evening while Lydia was playing with chalk.

She has started scrunching her nose up sometimes.  Cracks me up!  And if you look closely, you may notice her two bottom teeth that just sprouted!
Happy Monday!

Washing Dishes!

One day Lydia decided she wanted to wash all her dishes.
It kept her busy for quite a while!

So cute!

Joel & Anna!

Just a little side note about Lydia, last night at AWANA she was the only Cubbie that could say her verse with the reference all by herself with no help!  And she's one of the youngest too.  I'm a proud Momma! :)

Wooden Playground!

Joel got home from work early on Friday and wanted to go on a family adventure, so we headed to lunch and the playground in good ol Soddy Daisy.

Lydia likes to swing in the big swings now...sniff sniff.
Here is half of the cool playground.  There is another section I didn't get a picture of.
King Joel and Princess Lydia in their castle.
It was hot as blue blazes, but we had a great time!

Granola!

Today I want to talk to you about granola.  YUM!
Jessica has been making her own granola for quite a while now, but I always just thought she was a little over the top about how wonderful it was and went on my merry way.  Until I finally tried it myself!  So easy and so delicious!

3 cups of oats (traditional kind, not quick oats)
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
(Mix these ingredients together.)
1/3 cup honey
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
(Mix these and then add to the dry mixture.)

You can also add nuts, seeds, or whatever goodies you want.

Spread it out on a cookie sheet and bake at 300 degrees for fifteen minutes.  Stir.  Bake five more minutes.  Stir.  Bake until golden brown.  Let cool.  Stir occasionally as it hardens.  Try not to eat it all before it even cools.  You will be tempted.  :)
Save some to put on your yogurt, because ooo-da-lally it is de-lish!
Joel made this lovely lunch feast for me.  He likes to add a lot of fruit to the yogurt, which makes it almost as yummy as ice cream and a cookie.  But even with no fruit, yum yum yum!
