Community Helpers Day!

A few weeks ago, Lydia's theme for the week was community helpers.

All morning long, the kindergarten classes rotated around stations learning about different community helpers.  Here she is hammering with a "builder."

A fire truck sprayed a big rainbow of water. Lydia said all the kids went wild screaming, except her, of course. Ha.

They also got to go in an ambulance, and her teacher went way up in the air in a bucket truck!  Sounds like they had a pretty fun-filled day!

Kindergarten!

Here's Lydia's kindergarten class!

These are Lydia's closest friends (or so it seems from all her recess stories).

We are slowly getting used to our new way of life.  I must say, we would both prefer to be home together all day, but the new routine is nice. Anna Kate loves going to play with Eleonora at Jessica's house, so that is a definite plus! All I know is, after trying to get through a 34 page homework packet with Lydia, there is no way in this world I could homeschool.  I already think her teacher is a miracle worker!  I really am so thankful for Lydia's teacher and her new friends. So, so thankful!  And also glad I get to be at school with Lydia 3 days a week!  Life is good!

Strawberry Picking!

Alert! Alert! My blog is semi working! 

So let's take a look back to the beginning of May when we took a trip to a strawbery patch with Amanda, Evelyn, Jessica and Eleonora.

Birthday Flashback!

Anna Kate got a little tea cart for her birthday.

She loves to push it around, but usually it has anything but a tea set on it.  It's mostly used for an animal hospital or a rolling library, but at least she likes it! :)

On her actual birthday, her dear Aunt Buzzy thought she needed a cake (her mother was slacking).

Hair!

While brushing Lydia's hair today, she said, "Momma, did you know that God can count every single strip of hair on your head? That is so incredible!"  We started discussing that fun fact, and then she began listing people off, "He knows how many hairs you have, and Anna Kate, and Daddy, and even Uncle Eddie!" :)

And here is Lydia's room all cleaned up for the party!  We still need to put mats in those frames, and I'm hoping some shelves will be installed on the other wall someday.  And I just learned at Moms for Moms today that I need to invest in a bar of Lava soap to help out the carpet stain.  Ha.  Hope I can find some!

Even though we haven't done much to change this room besides paint the walls, here's the before...just because I like before and after pictures. :)
