Steven’s 4th Birthday!

Steven turned 4 in Michigan this year! His day was full of fun! And he got more legos, his current favorite.

Joel’s uncle happened to have a small bounce house that our kids loved!

Joel’s grandma lives on three flat acres. The boys were in heaven cruising around in a jeep. 

I couldn’t find Benjamin at one point and when I finally did find him, he was reading books with Anna Kate. So sweet!

Joel’s uncle (who lives next door to Joel’s grandma) also has an ATV.  My kids were thrilled to get rides in the back! Only made me slightly nervous. Haha

It was a really fun day!

 

Off to Michigan!

We decided to take a quick trip to Michigan before school starts back up. Our first stop was to visit Ashley and her kids in Kentucky. Our kids had so much fun playing together, and we enjoyed hanging out for a bit before hitting the road again. 

 

Pocket Wilderness!

Today we got to go on an adventure to the Pocket Wilderness with my college friend Lauren and her two boys Benjamin and Jacob. They are both only one month different in age from Anna Kate and Steven. I was nervous to take all four of my kids on a hike without Joel (definitely never done that before), but they did great!!! Benjamin and Steven loved it! They loved hiking, playing in the water, and throwing rocks. We enjoyed our picnic lunches and then all came home to play together. It was such a fun day!

 

Caroline’s Birthday!

The girls got to go to a birthday sleepover this past weekend. They got their nails painted, swam, did a slip and slide, watched Pollyanna, and ate at Delia’s. This was Anna Kate’s first sleepover at a non family member’s house, and she loved it! They had such a good time!

 

Happy Anniversary to Us!

Yesterday was our 12th anniversary! So to celebrate I took the girls on a back to school shopping spree. Haha! Didn’t really mean for that to happen, but I realized it was my last chance to leave the boys with Joel before school starts! We went to Olive Garden for a special treat. The girls loved it! Then we had the best time shopping, until the van wouldn’t start. Daddy had to come rescue us in Hixson. When we got home, it was time to head out on an anniversary date. Joel had to meet the tow truck man, then change out the van’s battery, so we ended up at Zaxby’s for a quick dinner. It was delicious, and we enjoyed eating at a romantic table for two. Haven’t done that in a while! So overall it was a wonderful day. Now let’s just hope someone can get our van going again!

 

Day Camp 3!

Lydia and Caroline are campers this week for the last week of camp. Wahhh. Can’t believe that summer is almost over! That went by way too quickly!!! But we sure have enjoyed it!

 

Hives!

Lydia broke out in some major hives the day she returned from Quest Camp. We thought she must have eaten something with a trace of peanuts in it, but the hives would not clear up! They kinda came and went for 3 days! The worst was Saturday night while we were at the beach! I didn’t even take pictures that time. I was too stressed! Turns out her grandma had washed her clothes while she was staying at her house, and she is either allergic to Purex 4 in 1 mountain breeze detergent or great value lavender scented ultimate fresh dryer sheets. Shew. Glad we got that cleared up. Haha
