My Boys!

The boys and I have been enjoying our time together since the girls have been back at school! Most days we just hang out at home, but yesterday we went to story hour at our library. The boys were so good. I was shocked! Steven made a jellyfish that he named Mr. Pants…who knows why?!

Steven has been spending a lot of his time building legos, doing puzzles, and his newest favorite, crystal art. I think he takes after his daddy. Benjamin spends his time making messes, eating, and trying to destroy Steven’s creations. Haha He also occasionally helps clean up, as seen above.

He built this whole dinosaur without any help! I was impressed!

Oh and this is Steven’s passport from the library. We’re supposed to bring it back every week to get it stamped. His passport picture cracks me up!

So yep, we’re having a good time over here at the Habermas house!

Cute Kiddos!

On Sunday I decided to take some pictures of my kids before church. Everyone was thrilled about that activity. Haha They didn’t turn out quite as good as I was hoping on my real camera (these are from my phone), so I might try again…they’ll really be thrilled about that idea. Ha!

Benjamin!

This boy is wild and crazy! He pushes chairs all around the house and can get up on just about anything. You never know what he might do next!

First Day of School!

Friday was the girls’ first day of school! They were actually pretty excited to go, and none of us even cried. It’s a miracle!

Anna Kate got the best teacher, and Lydia is back in the same class as her best friend, so they are both good to go! We’re excited for another great year of school!

Meet the Teachers!

On Wednesday, the girls got to go meet their new teachers. Anna Kate got Lydia’s all time favorite teacher, so she’s very excited! Lydia got two very sweet teachers. One had Christian music playing in her classroom, and I’ve heard it playing in her other teacher’s class too. Good old Rhea County!

My girls wanted to match, which of course made me happy! This is their last year together at school until Anna Kate is a freshman and Lydia a senior. Boo-hoooo!

The boys were good, but it was exhausting walking around that whole school with both of them!

I think it’s gonna be a great year!

Ark Encounter!

We broke our drive home up into two days, mainly for Benjamin’s sake. He can only handle being strapped down for so long. So Joel and I wanted to do something fun on the way home, since we would have a little extra time. After searching the internet, we realized that the Ark Encounter in Kentucky was right on our path home! And after further investigation, we found out that tickets for kids 10 & under were free, so we thought it was the perfect time to go!

It was such a neat experience! It was mind blowing to see the actual size of the ark and walk around the inside and imagine where Noah kept all those animals! Crazy! There was a lot to read, and we kinda had to blow past a lot of it. (Benjamin was a bit cranky.) But we really enjoyed our time. I was trying my best to explain things to Steven, but right after we got out of the ark, he said, so when are we gonna go in the boat? Oh dear! Not sure if it was just so huge that it didn’t seem like a boat or what! But he has been fascinated with the story of Noah ever since. He has wanted to read about it every night since we’ve gotten home. So I guess it wasn’t a complete waste of time. Haha

Then outside the ark there was a small zoo with neat animals and a petting zoo. We even found a goat named Joel! Cracked us all up!

There was an awesome playground, but by the time we got to it, it was blazing hot outside! So we didn’t get to enjoy it for as long as we would have liked. Plus we had to get back on the road!

It was a really neat experience! You should go if you’re ever close by!

Joel’s Grandmas!

Joel’s grandmas live about two hours apart in Michigan. So on Monday we went to see his Nannie, who lives with his aunt and uncle. She is not doing very well, and they don’t think she will live much longer. It was so good to see her and talk to her for a little while. She is an incredible woman, a mighty prayer warrior and just the kindest, most loving lady. She once told me that my children are the most precious thing and the only thing of mine that I will be able to take with me to heaven. I had never thought of it that way before! Also, when Lydia started going to school she told me to try to rest the last hour of the school day so that I would have the energy to make it through the evening with all my kids. I really like taking that advice. It does help! Anyways, it was so good to see her! When we were leaving, Benjamin kept waving and blowing kisses at her, and she kept blowing kisses back. It was the sweetest thing!

And here is Joel’s other grandma, Lori’s mom. My kids had the best time at her house! They say they want to go back every summer and stay longer.
