Life Lately!

Benjamin learned how to crawl out of his crib this week which is terrrible! Joel lowered the mattress down to the ground, our little secret trick that has always worked with our other kids….and he crawled right out the first time I put him in there! Ahhh! I put him back in at least ten times and then decided to block him in with Lydia’s mattress. He was using the corner to get out. By some miracle that worked! But that is only a short term solution. I ordered a crib tent that is going to zip him in for good. Haha. Desperate times call for desperate measures. I am not ready to move that little Houdini into a toddler bed. My few sweet hours of freedom are too precious to me! Ha. Anyways, I’ll let you know how it goes.

Goal Gals Weekend!

Way back in January, Jessica and I decided to start a group to encourage each other to keep going throughout the year with our New Year’s resolutions. So we invited a few friends and each came up with 5 goals to better ourselves. I think I started out with reading my Bible, getting 10,000 steps a day, drinking a certain amount of water, no sweets, and I’m not sure of the 5th. Anyways, most of the time we just encourage each other through texts, but the exciting part is that once a month we have a fun reward for those who get at least 100 checks. So the first couple months we just went out to eat together, but we decided to have one big reward in April which was a weekend getaway to Fall Creek Falls! We had the best time!!!

Thanks to the goal gals, I have walked 10,000 steps every day of this year! I only got 10,000 steps 34 days last year, to put that in perspective. And I have also lost 14 pounds! I don’t hardly believe that one myself, but it seems to be true. So thanks for the fun and encouragement, goal gals!

 

College Besties!

I got to spend time with my college besties this past week, and it was so good to see them! It had definitely been too long! It was so special and fun to watch all 9 of our kids play together!

 

Grand Prix!

 

The Awana Grand Prix was held at our church in April. Lydia’s pencil won second place in design, and Anna Kate’s ice cream sandwich won second place in speed. It was a fun night but SO loud and past Benjamin’s bedtime. Joel worked hard on those cars though. He always makes them look great!

Bike Riding!

The girls finally learned how to ride their bikes without training wheels a few weeks back. So we went to the walking track to really try them out. They were loving it, until Lydia’s bike slipped on a muddy curve and she blew the top of her knee off. That was unfortunate, but otherwise we had a great time!
