Literacy Week!

Steven was not thrilled to be dressed up like the cat in the hat today, but I think he warmed up to it after this picture was taken. 

We met one of Benjamin’s school friends at the playground yesterday.

It was probably his first official playdate. He loved it!

Yesterday was black and white day. 

Mrs. Brittany from the library came and read to Steven’s class yesterday. (Her daughter is Steven’s teacher.) I thought it was tender because she led story hour for my girls for years and years!

Steven gave his first presentation at school yesterday. He did so good! His teacher sent me a video of the whole thing. 

Lately he’s been writing me love notes, which of course I love! Man alive, he sure is cute!

Our Weekend!

Lydia had a terrible ear infection all weekend. Poor baby!

Benjamin went to the Shibleys’ for a sleepover. His first night away from his parents! Steven couldn’t quite bring himself to stay. 

Eleonora took good care of him!

He had the best time!

And the major highlight of the weekend was that we got to go see Newsies at Walker Valley High School! It was incredible!!!

Unexpected Snow!

February 19-20! Two surprise snow days!

Cumberland Mountain State Park!

We had two unexpected days off of school due to sickness, so we quickly booked a cabin, packed up our stuff, and headed out on an adventure!

Teachers get 50% off during the off season! What a deal!

We had the best time on our unexpected getaway!

Tea Party!

My girls and I got to attend a lovely tea party at church a while back. 

Amanda and Evelyn were our gracious hosts.

Our Weekend!

Joel and Lydia went on a youth retreat this past weekend. They both loved it! Only downer is that Joel came home with a shiner! 

Gramma took Anna Kate, Steven, and me to see The Wizard of Oz at the Cumberland County Playhouse!

It was so good! We all loved it!

Meanwhile, Benjamin got to hang out with Poppa for five hours while we were gone. Benjamin had the best time! The next day he woke up and said he wanted to go play with Poppa again. 

It was a lovely weekend, until Benjamin woke up with a fever Sunday morning. Poor baby is puny! He put himself to bed Saturday night and then fell asleep on the couch Sunday at 6:00. Very unlike him! Hoping whatever it is won’t last too long or spread to the rest of us!
