Green Beans!

I love green beans!
Our green beans have been growing like crazy!
So we cooked 'em up!
We didn't cook them like Grandmother does,
so they weren't THAT delicious,
but it was quite fun to eat our home-grown greens!

Catherine's Graduation!

On May 14th, my dear cousin Catherine became a veterinarian!
This is her graduating class:
The ceremony was good!
This is after they all became doctors!
Heather and I had a jolly good time on the back row of the place!
And here we are with the doctor herself
and her sister Shannon who is having a baby soon!
So much excitement!
I am a proud cousin!

Bushes!

Our blackberry bushes are blooming!
The blueberry bushes are budding!
And what type of bush is this?
A mulberry bush!
We have thousands of mulberries!
Here we go 'round the mulberry bush!

Planted Pots!

I got two red pots for my birthday LAST year to put on this porch!
I just now got around to filling them!
Ashley gave me the purple flowers for my birthday,
and I bought the yellow flowers at Lowes.
So pretty!
Aren't those petals cool!?!

Chicken Dinner!

Cooking in the crock-pot is my favorite!!!
It is so easy and so yummy!
Now, this may look like pig slop to you, but it is delicious!
Here is what you'll need to create this dish:
chicken breasts
3 stalks of celery (cut up)
1 can cream of celery soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 package of Lipton onion soup mix
(mixed with 2 cups of water)
1 bag of baby carrots
(if petite, you don't need to cut up)

Stir it all up and let it cook all day.
Serve over pasta or rice.

When cooking for just Joel and I,
I use half a pack of soup mix and way less carrots.
I am telling you....delicious!!!

Strawberry Craft Night!

The Strawberry Festival took place here in Dayton last weekend.
At craft night, we made decorations for the camp float,
which you'll have to check out at
jollydaysatshadynook.blogspot.com!

It was lots of fun!
Speaking of strawberries,
we are trying to grow some of our own.
This one was coming along nicely,
until a bird pecked a big hole in it!
The birds (I think)  have also been snipping unripened strawberries from the vine.
I'm not sure if we'll ever get a plump, juicy strawberry of our own to sink our teeth into!

Good News!

When I married Joel 9 months ago,
I married $14,000 worth of college debt.
The good news???
A couple weeks ago Joel and I mailed in our final payments!
That's right folks!  $14,000 in 9 months!
I'm pretty impressed with us, if I do say so myself!
Ok, enough bragging for today.
Come back tomorrow so I can brag on my garden!  :)

Lite-Brite!

Ashley gave me this lite-brite for my birthday!
Jess, Heather, and Ash wrote "Jenn" on it at my party.
I just think this picture is pretty funny!
I know both my sisters will love to see it on here!

Happy Easter!

Now this is quite a bit outdated,
but better late then never!
My mom cooked a delicious Easter feast for the family after church!
Then Heather took some pictures of us outside,
but we had raccoon eyes in most of them.
For more cute pictures of my whole family,
visit my sister's blog:
jollydaysatshadynook.blogspot.com!
Hope you had a happy Easter!

Rock City!

We had such a nice time strolling around!
We went on a Monday, so there weren't too many other people around.

Here is Joel in Fat Man's Squeeze.
He had to stick his belly way out to even get close to being squeezed.
Ha!
See seven states!

Yikes!!!

We had a wonderful time!
Such a nice birthday gift!

Birthday Getaway!

Joel and I recently went to the Chanticleer Inn on Lookout Mountain
for a kind of surprise birthday getaway for me.
I say "kind of" because he actually told me before we went,
but it was originally planned as a surprise.
Anyways, it was quite lovely!
Here I am standing in our doorway:
And here is our cute little room!
Come back tomorrow to see where we went while we were on Lookout Mountain!

After the play...

So, the play was not the only adventure of the day!
Jessica suggested that we go to an outlet mall called VF something or other.
I said, "No problem!  I'll just type it into my GPS."
We began following the directions and started heading into strange places!
It was ridiculous,
but for some reason I kept following the machine instead of a brain!
This is where we ended up!
We're not sure if it was a
Volunteer Fire department or the
Veteran's of Foreign War meeting place.
I don't know what it is, but it took us a long time to get there!
Then, after a lot of laughter, we headed home!

My Fair Lady!

My mother dear took her three lovely daughters (pictured below)
to the Cumberland County Playhouse to see My Fair Lady!
We had a most wonderful time!
I tried to get a good picture of us before the play started.
This is the best we got!
Then the lady behind us offered to take one....
probably because the flash had gone off in her eyes about 25 times!
The play was FABULOUS!!!  Oh so very good!!!

Thanks, Mops, for a smashingly good time!
