Thumper!

On March 23rd, Heather decided it would be fun to have a pet rabbit.  So I took her straight to a rabbit stand, and we picked out a little brown rabbit named Thumper!
A few days later, Thumper escaped.  Little did we know, that would not be Thumper's only escape!
But she got him back, right in time for some Easter photos.
We thought it'd be cute to get Easter pictures of the kids with a rabbit, but as usual...easier said than done!

And here are the Shibs without the bunny.
And since this post has somehow morphed into a Shibley spotlight, here's the whole crew!
And yet again, there will be more Easter egg-stravaganza tomorrow! :)

Easter Photos!

After church, we headed up to my parents' house for our annual Easter lunch.  As it was being set up, I snuck outside to try to get some pictures of my girls, since I had run out of time before church.  And look!  They smiled! :)

Can you believe all those smiles?  I'm kind of in shock over here.  Ha!  Since that went pretty well, I thought I'd just get a quick cousin picture before the meal....
That didn't go so well.  Why do I even try?  At least it looks like they like each other! :)
And once again, you'll have to come back for more.  I didn't realize I took so many Easter pictures!

Easter Morning!

For some reason, I never finished posting about our Easter, so today we'll have a little flashback to Easter morning.
Here are the girls' Easter buckets.  I found them at Target and then added on the gold letters using my cricut machine.  I love how they turned out!
This picture cracks me up, because Anna Kate is making her classic excited face that goes along with her oooo-ooooo-oooooo sound.  :)
And again. Haha!
Cookies and cream Easter bunny.
Yum yum!
And then it was time to rush to get ready for church!
Lydia wore a dress that was my cousin Sarah's, and Anna Kate's was a baby gift to Lydia, I believe.

Not the smiliest bunch.
But we tried!
Stay tuned for the Èaster lunch and egg hunt! :)

Chattanooga Zoo!

We got a season pass to the Chattanooga Zoo back in April and have been thoroughly enjoying it!
The zoo is just the right size for my girls.
Anna Kate is showing you an alligator.  "Oooooo-ooooooo-ooooooooo!"
Ha! She wasn't loving the carousel.
But it's Lydia's favorite part of the zoo! :)

We've been twice so far, and we also got a 50% discount when we visited the Knoxville Zoo last weekend.  Lots of fun!

Cleaning!

I have never had to clean up my house so many times as I have this past month.  Yesterday our house was appraised, which may have been our last official time we needed our house in tip top order.  The girls have been nothing but helpful through it all.  Ha! Ha!
One day Lydia mopped the whole house with me and even scrubbed the crayon marks off the toilet!  (Thanks for those, Anna Kate!) But usually I'm just trying to clean up messes faster than the girls can make them!
One of these days it will be time to actually start moving, and then the real fun will begin!  Hope I don't lose my ever-lovin' mind! :)

The Colorer!

Lydia loves to color these days!
If she gets in the mood, she can color for an hour straight!
And she's quite good, if I do say so myself.  :)

Sisters!

These girls have finally started playing together (occasionally)!
It is so fun to watch when they do!  Anna Kate loves her big sister!  Sometimes she just crawls all over her until she gets some attention.  Pretty cute!
Lydia was in the lovely "keep my eyes closed to drive you insane" mood.  Always fun.  Our air conditioner is broken...could get a little steamy in here today.  Don't worry though...we just got the air fixed in my car yesterday, so we can always go for a cool drive.  Haha.  (Not really funny, but let's just pretend it is.)  Happy Thursday everyone!

Mother's Day!

Joel did a little Mother's Day interview with Lydia, while he let me take a Sunday afternoon nap, might I add!
Here's what she had to say...

*What is something your momma always says to you?
I love you, honey.  (Which, for the record, I never call her honey, but she thinks it's hilarious when I call Joel honey.  So I guess that's where that came from.)

*What makes your momma happy?
When she gets cards and presents.  (True. :) )

*How does your momma make you laugh?
When she says silly words.

*What is your momma really good at?
Making buntings.  (Ha!)

*What is your momma not very good at?
Flying me with her feet.  (Hey now, I thought I was pretty good at that! Ha!)

*What is your momma's favorite food?
Frosted flakes and cinnamon rolls.  (Those were her ideas of what to make me for my Mother's Day breakfast...ended up with eggs and fruit.)

*What makes you proud of your momma?
When she fixes my bows.  (Another ha!  Buntings and bows...that is just about all I do around this place.)

*What do you and your momma do together?
Color and have picnics inside.  (I guess she's calling lunch a picnic, because I certainly don't remember an indoor picnic taking place.)

*How are you and your momma the same?
We have the same color of eyelashes.  (She always points out that our hair is different colors, but at least our eyelashes are the same! Ha!)

*How are you and your momma different?
She is bigger than me.

*How do you know your momma loves you?
She helps me color, and she goes shopping with me.  (Lydia loves to shop!  She says her two favorites are Target and going to Lowe's with "Joel".)

I sure do love that little nut!  She cracks me up all day long!

Anna Kate Kate!

Here's my cute, sweet baby, often referred to as Anna Kate Kate.
Aunt Terry got her this adorable dress, and I thought she just looked too cute not to photograph.  Only problem was that we were already running late to church (as usual), so there was no hope for a prize winning picture.
Anna recently learned to scale her crib wall but thankfully never took a tumble.  One morning when I went to get her, she was straddling the railing, riding it like a horse.  We were both shocked!  Joel lowered it to its lowest setting, but in an inch or so, we are out of luck!  (This picture was taken before the lowering took place.)
This is how you will normally find Anna if you visit our home.  Without the night night, I would be dooooomed!  She loves to follow me around crying...I'm hoping she is going to outgrow that stage any minute!
But, when she isn't crying, she can be quite the ham, which I love about her!  She puts underwear on her head any chance she gets, because she knows it cracks Lydia and me up big time!  (These particular undies are inside out training pants, hence the extra fluff, that Lydia still likes to wear at night.  She calls them her fluffy buns.  She never has wet the bed, not even once.  I think we got lucky there!).  Back to the picture, the day this was taken, we had recently taken a trip to Food City, and the lady in the bakery gave both the girls a sugar cookie.  Her hair net must have made an impression on Lydia, because when she got a good luck at Anna Kate, she started cracking up and said, "You look like the Food City cooker!"  Hahaha!
I love my silly girls!

Cousins!

Today I get to babysit Eleonora while Jessica goes to a play with Josiah's class.   These girls will have a great time together, I'm sure! :)
