Piano Lessons!

Jessica is on a piano lesson kick with her boys, and she is so excited about it that she has even given my three year old a few lessons!
I personally think she's just a wee bit too young, but Lydia loves it!
Not much sticks, but I give Jess an A for effort!

Easter Eggs!

We celebrated Heather's birthday on Saturday and afterwards decorated and hid eggs.
These are the only pictures I got, but don't you worry...there are more to come from Sunday!
Hoppy Easter, and Hoppy Birthday to Heather!

Happy Easter!

Yesterday evening we came home from a friend's surprise birthday dinner and the weather and lighting were just gorgeous!  I thought to myself, "Oh, this would be the perfect chance to take a few Easter pictures!"  Only problem was that my girls were filthy, having just partied hard for both Heather and Amanda.  So we rushed inside for a quick bath, got dressed up, quick as little bunnies, and headed back outside.  (Joel even volunteered to blow dry Lydia's hair, if you can believe it!)  And after all that, here is what we ended up with.  Lovely!
But it really wasn't all that bad.  Lydia was actually trying to smile for a few seconds, only because Joel bribed her with some jelly beans though, I must confess.)
And I got a few cute pictures of my sweet Anna Kate while Lydia was getting her hair styled by her dear Daddy-o.

The good lighting was quickly fading away.
Anna has been making this face a lot lately, usually while making an excited who-who-who sound.
Lydia was really wanting those jelly beans.  Thanks for those, Aunt Terry!
Getting a picture together just never worked out.  I think they both were just a wee bit sleepy!
But that's okay.  We will try it again!  I'm sure they'll be thrilled.
This is my favorite.  Look at those cute little toes!  Happy Easter!!!

12 Months!

I don't think I ever posted my 12 month old baby, so here she is! (Not the greatest picture but the only one I got.)
And here is Lydia at the same age.
Such sweet girls!

Fun Finds!

Yesterday I found these cute fan type decorations on the giveaway tables at Moms for Moms.  I love the colors, so we're going to base the whole upcoming Peppa Pig party around them!  Lydia carried them around a lot.  She is just a bit excited about her party, has been since the day after her 3rd birthday. :)
If you noticed the rabbit on Lydia's shirt above, she would want you to be sure to see her tail.  She wiggled it around at people all day. Ha!
And look at these lovely high heels I found for Lydia.  She has been clomping around in them since I came home with them.  One of the bows even lights up!  She asked me if next week I could find a pair of Cinderella glass slippers that both light up.  Chances are slim, but ya never know! :)

Flashback to Christmas!

Just found these cute pictures I never shared with you all.  We went and got our Christmas tree on a rainy Sunday afternoon.  Not the best idea really, but we all dried out eventually.
And in this picture Joel is holding one of the gifts that he made for our parents and grandparents and the handmade Honeycutt gift swap.
Look at my sweet little four (or six...can't tell) toothed baby.  Now she has ten!

Great Grandmas!

Back in February we went to visit Joel's grandparents in Michigan.  One thing I discovered on that trip was how thankful I am that all my grandparents live/lived in Tennessee!  As a kid, I always thought driving four hours to Kingsport was an eternity.  Little did I know, I should have been thanking my lucky stars!
So here we have Lori's mom, Joel's Grandma.  We spent three nights with her.  Anna Kate slept terrrrrribly all three naps and night times, but I guess I should try to forget about that by now.  And as you can see, Lydia was being quite uncooperative while trying to get a good picture.  Oh heavens.
Then we headed a couple hours over to see Joel's Nannie and Papa, Mark's parents.  We only saw them for a few hours really, because we just spent one afternoon/evening there and left early the next morning.  And I somehow never got a picture of Anna Kate with Nannie or Papa.  What a bummer!
Oh and the dress Lydia is wearing was made by Nannie's mother.  How neat is that?!  I had Anna dressed in one too.  Still can't believe I didn't get her picture!  We will just have to go back!  (Once my traveling and (lack of) sleeping memories begin to fade.)  :)

Little Chef!

Lydia loves to help me cook!
A lot of the time, she will say, "Wait! Wait! I have to go get my hat, apron, and gloves!"
And then we can get right down to business!

Smash Cake!

Let's take a look back to when my baby turned a whopping ONE!
On the day of her party, I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get everything ready, as usual.
When I looked back through the pictures the next day, I realized I hadn't gotten any that I really loved, so what did I do?  I decided to reenact the whole thing, of course!
The decorations were all still in place, and we had plenty of spare cupcakes, so why not give it another go?
Anna Kate didn't seem to mind my request for a reenactment one bit!
She was happy, and I was happily snapping away with no party pressure.
You've just gotta capture these moments, even if they aren't the real deal! :)
So there ya have it, proof that I am a nut...purposely allowing my baby to eat this much sugar and make a huge mess two days in a row.  Gotta do what ya gotta do! :)
