We celebrated Anna Kate’s birthday on Saturday at camp. She chose a Fox and the Hound party, which is not a very common theme according to the internet. Lydia had a forest animal party when she turned 7, so I got to reuse a few decorations. That was handy! It was all family in attendance, plus one sweet friend from school.
The girls say the highlight of the party was the hound dog sniffing game. They had to crawl around like dogs and find different scents. They howled when they found the correct smell. It was pretty entertaining. We also played What time is it Mr. Fox, a Shibley classic. We did a little movie trivia, but my kids were the only ones that knew the answers…must not be a very popular movie these days. Ha!
Joel made Big Mama the owl out of a pineapple and a cantaloupe. We drank swamp water. There was a pond of jello that Tod and Copper were splashing around in. The cake was supposed to look like two tree stumps…Anna Kate’s special request. Let’s just say, I think I’ll stick to simple cupcakes from here on out. Haha! Oh and we kept it simple with salad and pizza for dinner.
I made these shirts with iron on transfers. It was so easy and fun! Benjamin was Squeaks the caterpillar, and Steven was Boomer the woodpecker. And we were all cracking up over Joel being Chief…well, all of us except Joel. He almost refused to dress up, but he came around, as always!
Anna Kate got a hoverboard from her Gramma and Poppa! She’s been zipping around the house on it ever since.
There was a coloring contest. Lydia was the winner.
Her Grandma and Grandpa got her a big girl Bible, which she loves! Anna Kate is an amazing reader, so she’ll be digging in I’m sure!
We pulled out the cotton candy maker, which is always a good time.
Anna Kate is so sweet to Benjamin! She is my biggest helper when it comes to him. She plays with him and even gets him out of his crib in the mornings, even though he’s nearly as long as she is!
We had the best time! I can’t believe my baby girl is 7! She is loads of fun, absolutely hilarious, super smart, sweet as pie, and just a wee bit dramatic. Ha! We all love her so very much!!! Happy birthday, dear Anna Kate!
