Look Below!
I put up a new blog post today, but it says it was published on September 7th for some reason. So you'll have to look down a few posts to see my sweet Anna Kate. She had to get shots today but took them like a champ!

Jackpot!
This weekend I dropped by our Goodwill looking for some children's books for a project I'm working on. I stopped by the girls' clothes section, because I can never resist, and I hit a jackpot! All of these are practically brand new looking, and they will fit Lydia next fall.
Then I found some OshKosh overalls for Anna Kate next fall for $1.50! and a long sleeved leotard for Lydia when it gets colder outside.
And then we were looking at the Halloween costumes just for fun and found this Snow White dress for 75 cents! We are going to a dress up princess party next week, so it will be perfect! Thought about going with the Snow White theme for our actual costumes since I already have an apple costume for myself and Joel could easily be a huntsman, but that leaves poor Anna Kate as a dwarf, so we'll have to keep thinking. :)

Pantry!
And just like that, we have a pantry! We sold the red dresser that was hanging out in the left corner of our kitchen, and this weekend Joel replaced it with a pantry...a shelf less pantry, but that's besides the point. My favorite part is the door that came out of our old house. Brings back sweet memories of our dear cozy cottage. :)
Here's a blurry before: Still lots to do, but it's coming along nicely.
Here are the girls this morning. Lydia happily coloring while Anna Kate looks on and cries. Off to a good start. :)Wednesday, September 7, 2016
Sweet Baby!
This was one of Anna Kate's last naps in her old bedroom back in June. I was feeling all sentimental before I took her decorations down.
I loved that sweet little nursery! But I especially love my sweet baby!
She is a champion sleeper, always goes to sleep without a peep and quietly plays in her crib for nearly an hour every morning before I go to get her! Lydia, to this day, has never done either of those two things. Ha!

This morning I took a little longer than usual to go get Anna Kate, because I decided to go ahead and get ready for the day in peace. So, with her extra time, Anna Kate decided to help me out by beginning the process of getting herself ready for the day. When I walked into her room, she was half naked and happily handed me her diaper! Ha! I put her to sleep in footed pajamas tonight, hoping she won't be able to be quite so helpful tomorrow morning! :)

My Pretty Ballerina!
Hold on to your hats, folks! There are a lot of pictures ahead!
These pictures are from the day Lydia's outfit/costume/whatever you call it came in the mail.
She was thrilled!
As you can tell.
Here's her "flying leap"! Look at that air!
Finally the big day came!
I bought a bun maker contraption. Still need to perfect my method.
I could not get her to really smile for some reason, but she's still cute.
Who taught her this pose?! Cracked me up!
She was telling people all morning that it was the day of her first ballerina class!
She was so, so excited!
We barely made it on time, because I kept trying to get the perfect picture. Gonna have to try again next week for a real smile, or I could just be happy with the 100 pictures I already got. :)
There were twelve little ballerinas all dressed just alike (except for the rainbow wonder below out of uniform). Below is Lydia doing the chasse, I believe. She also learned first position, how to pliƩ and curtsy, and other things I'm sure.
The teacher told the girls to pretend their hands were glued together (because they kept breaking apart). Well, I walked in (to the adjoining room) and Lydia and I made eye contact. I waved, not thinking that she couldn't wave back, and she winked at me. She was very serious about following the rules. :)
The whole thing was one of the cutest things I have ever seen in my life!
I truly believe Lydia was the best dancer in the class...that should tell you a little something about the skills of the other girls. :)
I kept catching Lydia looking at herself in the mirrors on the wall.
She was loving it!
The teacher did such a good job! It is a class of 3 and 4 year olds.
We are both so glad we get to go every Tuesday. I was going to run to the grocery store during her class, but I don't think I can stand to miss the cuteness. :)

Oh yes, and at the end when I asked her how she liked it, she said, "It was pretty good but a little too exhausting!" hahaha!
